Andy is a professional musician from an Irish family, an upbringing which gave him a lifelong interest in Irish music. From playing tunes from the Gallowglass Ceili Band repertoire on his harmonica at the age of five, he went on to learn the piano, played double bass with the Blackpool Youth Orchestra, taught himself guitar and fiddle and has played all over the country with a wide diversity of bands over the years from Ceilidh thro' jazz and dinner dance bands to rock and roll. He plays an 1890 Mittenwald fiddle, an English sycamore and walnut acoustic guitar by Wyre River Guitars, a Gibson ES 175 jazz semi acoustic and a Custom Shop Fender Stratocaster 1965 re-issue. He is also one of the lead vocalists in the band and has performed at festivals and on the radio and TV.
Susan is the piano/keyboard player and vocalist with the band and she also calls for the Ceilidh dances. A professional musician and Assistant Director of Music at Sedbergh School. She had a formal music education at the
Royal Northern College of Music and has played and sung with several bands live and on the radio, developing an interest in dancing by working with other callers. She went on to call the dances herself. She has a clear voice and an easy unassuming style which quickly sets the dancers at their ease.
Neil plays fiddle and mandolin and has played in folk and Ceilidh bands for many years. he is a big devotee of playing in sssions in the traditional style - the regular monthly sessions he hosts at the Old Dungeon Ghyll in Great Langdale are legendary. He plays a 100 year old French violin and a 1950's Gibson mandolin.
Liam, the youngest member, has been playing with the band since he was 11 years old. He started on Drums and Whistle and has now graduated to Fiddle and Guitar. Liam plays an English wood acoustic guitar by Wyre River Guitars.
